Health problems caused by carcinogenic substances
Carcinogens are everywhere around us, some more hidden in products that few would think of other more exposed, such as those in cigarettes.
Automatically carcinogens do not cause cancer, but favors the development of this serious disease, especially when there is a constant and prolonged exposure to them.
Carcinogenesis is a complex process by which a certain cell in the body suffers a series of mutations caused, in general, exposure to certain environmental factors (chemical, physical and biological). Is carcinogenic agent (substance, radiation or radioactive isotopes) that causes carcinogenesis.
Carcinogens in cosmetics
The cosmetics and body care are always present in any home, but how much promise to beautify the hide so much that can damage health.
Metals
Lead, chromium, aluminum and titanium are just some carcinogens that can be found in lipsticks and other lip care products. Over time, these substances can cause lung cancer or stomach if you get to be ingested.
Dihydroxyacetone
Dihydroxyacetone is a carcinogen that compose the self-tanning products. It is the active ingredient that gives skin its natural bronze copper color specifications. Dihydroxyacetone can be ingested easily during application. Used regularly, self-tanning products with dihydroxyacetone can cause changes in DNA and can cause cancerous tumors.
Other toxic substances in cosmetics and care are fluoride, parabens, synthetic fragrances, toluene, and triclosan propileneglicolul.
Carcinogens in food
The food we eat every day can contain carcinogens which do nothing to accelerate the pace of degradation of the cells.
Saturated fats in excess
Foods that contain plenty of saturated fat, such as pork can be potential culprits for cancer. Normally, saturated fats can not be eliminated from the diet radically, unless they adopt a vegetarian diet.
In fact, saturated fats are dangerous when consumed in moderation and only occasionally. A constant intake of saturated fat can lead to cancer of the colon while because fats favor the development of tumors in the digestive tract.
Aflatoxin

For example, aflatoxin is not found naturally in dairy products, but if they can reach feed or plants that were infected animal was fed with aflatoxin.
Acrylamide
Acrylamide is a carcinogen that is found mainly in foods rich in starch heated to temperatures above 120 degrees Celsius. Thus, this carcinogen is found in French fries, chips, toast for breakfast, biscuits and cookies, among others. Acrylamide favor infertility in women, and certain types of cancer.
Food additives
Not all food additives are potentially carcinogenic, but many of them can lead to other dangerous diseases, from skin diseases to neurological disorders. Of E’s harmful effects on the body stands
– E 330 (lemon salt) – is considered the most carcinogenic additive. Can cause oral cancer and is found mainly in soft drinks.
– E 407 (carrageenan) – produce, vitamins and minerals and deficiency may increase risk of cancer. Some products containing carrageenan include certain types of cheese and pate in trade. Carrageenan may have laxative action can cause allergies, can cause ulcers and malnutrition.
It’s good to know that there are many other sites is considered to be carcinogens (E110 – yellow dye, E 95 – acetsulfam K).
Carcinogens in house
It is almost impossible to totally stay away from carcinogenic substances, but as much as possible, try to lessen exposure to them if necessary.
Benzene and formadelhida
There are two carcinogens that are found in home air freshening products, for example. Room fresheners spread a pleasant smell in the room, but also spread these carcinogens which, if inhaled (and often are) can cause various types of cancer, such as leukemia. It is also good to know that benzene and formadelhida composition are found in cigarettes.
Aluminum
Aluminum foil to wrap sandwiches or cover the tray with food, is a carcinogen. Aluminum sheets should not be found in food around because ions in the composition can be easily ingested. Once inside the body, they can have a toxic effect on the brain. While, aluminum prevents proper absorption of calcium and promotes osteoporosis and may also lead to cancer.
Perfluorooctanoic acid
Perfluorooctanoic acid is a carcinogen in the composition of the top layer of non-stick pans. Although they are very useful in the kitchen as it prevents food sticking, teflon-coated pans are dangerous to health. The upper shell can scratch, leading to the spread of perfluorooctanoic acid in food. By ingestion, this carcinogen reach the body, and over time can lead to disease and thyroid cancer.
