ENT specialists tell us that the best way to keep our ears clean and free of wax external part consists of cleaning them and avoid domestic.Our ears are self-cleaning capacity. Wax is usually eliminated from ear “without help” from outside, no need for a tool to do this.
Chopsticks with cotton, or any other object to clean, can push wax further into the ear canal, causing its obstruction.
Hair Barrettes are especially dangerous if they are used as tools for cleaning the ears because they can pierce delicate layer of skin lining the ear canal – thus causing infection.
Ear wax is secreted with a purpose – prevents penetration of bacteria in the ear canal. Infection at this level may be due to the existence of water behind a large plug of wax. This is called swimmer’s ear and ear canal affects. If you have such an infection, you feel pain when you apply pressure or traction on the external ear structures.
Each of us secrete varying amounts of wax in the ear canal. Sometimes there is an excess secretion, wax blocking the ear canal, making it difficult hearing. If this occurs, a doctor can remove excess wax using a hot water jet or specialized tools.
